2006 (Sideways Tour)

I'm absolutely sure that someone can do better than this (page), so edit away 2006 PTUPers.

I'm sure that someone at least knows the roster. From the San Jose area it was Tim, Carl, Jason, and me. From the Santa Barbara area it was Camille and ... I'm sorry but I've been drinking some Santa Barbara Pinot Noir and I'm forgetting the other riders names. Please fill in.

Day 1 - San Luis Obispo to Lompoc. Camped in Lompoc.

Day 2 - Lompoc to Santa Barbara. Stayed indoors.

Day 3 - Santa Barbara to Ojai

Day 4 - Ojai back to Santa Barbara

Somewhere along the line, we stopped at two of the wineries in the movie Sideways. One was Sanford where we picked up some Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and of course some Pinot Noir. Another was Kalyra, where they grew these Portuguese grapes that I'd never heard of, but that tasted close to some Spanish reds I've tried. I'm a big fan of Spanish reds.

I remember Tim cracking the old "Henway" and "Snoo" jokes with great success, and Camille and Tim going on about Chuck Norris and his mysterious powers.

I also remember that on night two (indoor stay - hotel for me and Jason) Camille took us to downtown Santa Barbara. Holy Shit! That place is hopping! Nothing like I've ever seen. Kind of like the Castro, but not nearly so gay.
